🍰 Baking with ChatGPT
With the holidays around the corner, I really want to encourage you to try my favorite ChatGPT feature:
👉 the baking assistant.
It’s genuinely a great tool — a place where you can consult recipes, ask questions while baking, and check whether everything is going in the right direction. Let’s be honest: I’d rate my cooking skills at –100.
And yet… with ChatGPT’s help, I’ve already baked three cakes.
We even organized a small competition among friends — and my matcha cheesecake received real compliments. Not the polite kind. More like: “Wow, this is actually delicious.”
What’s more — I ate my own cheesecake and genuinely enjoyed it. That’s a whole new level.
🧠 How does it work?
1. Start with a recipe (or just an idea)
If you already have a recipe, you can:
take a photo of it and paste it into the chat, or
simply write something like:
“I want to make a matcha cheesecake — what do I need?”
ChatGPT will walk you through the ingredients and the next steps.
2. Talk through the ingredients (yes, you can disagree)
You can chat with ChatGPT like with a patient kitchen advisor.
ChatGPT suggests xylitol. You say you’d rather use coconut sugar.
ChatGPT explains how that choice will affect the flavor, texture, and color of the cake.
No judgment. No pressure. Just facts.
✏️ Example prompt — how to talk to ChatGPT in the kitchen
You don’t need perfect or “technical” prompts. Just write like a human.
To get started:
“I want to bake a matcha cheesecake.
I have cottage cheese, eggs, butter, and coconut sugar.
I’m not sure about the texture of the mixture — I’m attaching a photo.
Can you tell me if it’s blended well enough and what I should do next?”
During baking:
“This is the cheesecake base after pressing it down.
Does it look compact enough?
Can I put it in the fridge now?”
3. Photos as quality control 📸
This is the feature I recommend the most.
While baking, you can take a photo of any step you’re unsure about and paste it directly into the conversation. Then you ask:
“Does this texture look okay?”
“Can I move on to the next step?”
ChatGPT looks at the photo and gives a concrete answer:
what still needs fixing,
or whether it’s time to move on.

Below are screenshots from our real baking conversations.
❓ What can you ask ChatGPT while baking?
Honestly — anything.
Is this consistency okay already?
Is it normal for the mixture to be slightly lumpy?
Can I replace white sugar with coconut sugar, and what will change?
Can I put this in the fridge / oven now?
What happens if I mix it for too long?
What surprised me the most was this: baking stopped being stressful.
Instead of guessing — I simply asked.
✨ Why I love baking with ChatGPT
Because it:
never gets impatient,
never laughs at basic questions,
explains why something works or doesn’t,
and gives you a sense of control exactly when you need it most.
For someone who was convinced that baking just isn’t for them — this can truly change everything.
If you’re afraid to bake, try it once with ChatGPT.
Even if it doesn’t turn out perfect, at least you’ll know why.
