About Me
🌸 About Me
Thank you for visiting my corner of the internet. I’m Julka — a Marie Kondo enthusiast who also happens to be openly addicted to buying books and board games. I collect all of them, so yes, I live in a constant state of tsundoku. Honestly? I’m grateful I’m at least a minimalist at heart, because otherwise I’d probably have a whole mountain of sculptures and paintings at home. 😉
I love good stories — the kind that stay in your mind for a long time. I find them in books, in art, in museums, and sometimes in tiny everyday moments. And I like talking about them in my own way.
🌸 Why so many Japanese accents?
People often ask me why so much of what I write, collect, or design has a Japanese touch.
The simple answer is: that aesthetic feels like home to me.
The calmness, the clarity, the space between things, the focus on small details, the gentle humor — all of that matches the way I think and the way I move through the world.
Japanese stories, art, and language help me breathe a little deeper.
They teach me stillness, softness, balance.
And maybe that’s why they naturally weave themselves into everything I do — not as a decoration, but as a way of understanding life.
📚 Bunko Tales — books, movies, art, and a bit of AI ;)
Bunko Tales is my space for things that move me. I write about books that opened something in me; about art that made me stop; and about ideas — especially those that bring a little clarity or spark joy.
In my reviews, I always look for balance: a bit about the content, a bit about what shifted inside me, and a bit about the moment in life I was in while reading.
🎨 Art
I don’t pretend to be a critic. If a painting or installation follows me around in my mind for days — I write about it. It’s that simple. Sometimes I just want to grab a megaphone and invite everyone to come see it. To feel what I felt. To tell me what they saw in it. Beautiful things don’t end — they travel from person to person.
🤖 AI
I work in tech, so AI is part of my everyday life. Sometimes I share simple, practical tips — no lectures, no heavy theory.
Just: how to do something faster, smarter, easier.
If it helps you feel a little more comfortable with AI, then it’s worth it.
💡 And besides that?
I’m a realist. I move fast. I don’t like overcomplicating simple things.
I live with the world’s cutest 🐶 and a very smart husband 💡 — and somehow we balance each other perfectly: he always sees the bright side, I go “I see darkness, darkness everywhere” and immediately write a to-do list.
Both of them are ultra-photogenic, unlike me. 😉
🎲 Board Games — Meeple Girl
I’ve loved board games for years, but only recently did I meet someone I can play with almost every day.
That was the moment that allowed me to… buy over 100 games. 😅 And another thing: board game reviews always annoyed me because most of them were positive and basically useless. So I created a separate website: 👉 www.meeplegirl.com
A place only for games: honest reviews, humor, categories, recommendations — all in my style.
💌 My little corner of the internet
Bunko Tales is calmer, more reflective, rooted in emotion and observation.
Meeple Girl is lively, energetic, and full of board games.
Together, they form my small, neatly organized (and slightly chaotic) universe.
I hope you find something here for yourself — a thought, an idea, an inspiration, or simply a moment of pleasant “rest inside a text.”
I’d love to hear from you — whether it’s about books, movies, travel tips, or just to
