🐓 Plucked – A Fast Card Game with Humor
Plucked is one of those games that sparks laughter right from the first round. It’s simple, fast-paced, and full of interaction — though in my opinion, it’s a somewhat “lighter” version of Unstable Unicorns. Perfect when you want something quick, easygoing, and just mischievous enough to mess with your friends.

🎯 Objective

The winner is the first to gather a set number of chickens of the same color in their coop:

  • 5 chickens of the same color with 3–4 players,

  • 4 chickens of the same color with 5–7 players.

Sounds easy? Only at first glance — because your opponents will do everything they can to ruin your plans.

🃏 How a turn works

On their turn, each player may take one of three actions:

  • Draw a card from the deck.

  • Play a chicken into their coop (if it meets the conditions).

  • Play an action card – steal chickens, swap them, throw out opponents’ cards, or defend against their tricks.

The game flies by, since turns are quick, and the constant stealing and swapping keeps the tension high until the end.

🧩 Why I like it

I enjoy the pace and the lighthearted feel — it’s a game you can pull out anytime and explain in three minutes. It shines in larger groups, where interaction and table banter make it even funnier. The artwork is charming, and the chicken-coop theme adds to the humor.

🏆 How to win at Plucked

  • Don’t reveal your color too soon — if you focus on one too early, others will block you.

  • Collect defensive cards — they’re lifesavers when someone tries to steal your chicken.

  • Use action cards as soon as the opportunity comes up — in this game, the situation changes in seconds.

  • Surprise at the end — save the decisive chickens for when you can end the game in one move.

  • Watch other players — pay attention to which colors they’re collecting so you can sabotage them in time.

Impressions

Plucked is a perfect filler card game — quick, funny, and full of opportunities to trip each other up. Each round is short but always leaves you craving a rematch.

🎯 Rating: 6/10Plucked lands somewhere between Virus! and Unstable Unicorns. It has more twists and unexpected cards than Virus!, so you need to pay closer attention to what others are doing, but it’s less complex than Unicorns, where every card requires careful reading and planning. That balance of lightness, speed, and just a touch of tactics makes it a great party game for players of all ages.

The only drawback is the player count — you need at least three people, which for middle-aged friends with busy schedules can sometimes be harder than winning the game itself. 😄

That said, if I have to choose, I’ll always reach for Unstable Unicorns. For me, they offer more depth and satisfying combos — though sometimes it’s nice to dive into this chicken chaos just for pure fun.
