🐉 Karak – Dungeons Full of Adventure
⭐20/10
Players: 2–5
Playtime: 30–45 min
Difficulty: Light / Family Dungeon Crawler
Game type: Board / Adventure
“Karak” is an exciting adventure board game with RPG elements, where each player leads one of six heroes through the labyrinth beneath the castle of the same name. Tile by tile, you reveal the dungeon, encounter monsters to fight, gather equipment and spells, and, most importantly, discover treasure chests filled with precious loot.
The master — and winner — is the player who, after defeating the Dragon, has collected the most treasures.
🎯 Objective
Simple: collect as many points as possible from treasure chests and loot tokens. Easy to say, but the path to victory requires courage, planning, and a bit of luck with the dice.
🛡️ How a turn works
On your turn, you may take up to 4 actions:
Explore new tiles – each could hide a monster, a chest, or a new corridor.
Fight monsters – roll dice and compare against their strength.
Collect equipment and spells – the better they are, the stronger your chances in later battles.
Open treasure chests – but only if you’ve found keys from previous fights.
🔥 Why I love Karak
It feels like a board game version of Diablo or a light RPG — you crawl through dungeons, slay monsters, and keep upgrading your gear until you’re ready for the ultimate showdown with the Dragon. It’s simple, but so satisfying, especially since every game is different thanks to random dungeon tiles and dice rolls.
There’s also just the right amount of rivalry — part against monsters, part against other players — so tension never lets up.
💡 Expansion: Karak Regent – a Brilliant Twist
PvP – you can challenge another player to a duel and steal a piece of their equipment.
The Curse of Karak – the weakest player temporarily gains the powers of all remaining heroes, which can flip the game on its head.
🏆 How to win in Karak
Explore as much as you can — more tiles mean more treasure opportunities.
Gather keys — without them, chests stay locked.
Avoid hopeless fights — wasting a turn can cost you the game.
In Regent, watch your back — other players can strike you directly.
Face the Dragon only when prepared — without solid gear, it’s better to wait.
☕ Impressions
🎯 Rating: 20/10 – Karak is one of those games you always want to return to, and the dungeons never get old.
Karak is a must for RPG fans — dynamic, atmospheric, and endlessly replayable. Every tile feels like a new adventure, and the final showdown with the Dragon always gets your heart racing.
I love this game so much that I bought all the expansions — Karak Regent, extra characters, and Karak 2. Thanks to them, the dungeons never get repetitive, and each playthrough has its own unique flavor.📖 Rulebook (PL):
